WEMA Maximat 50 plus NC Automatic

Close cooperation between machine manufacturers, tool makers and woodworking specialists has a long tradition in the Ore Mountains and they have been producing innovative production equipment for a very long time, which has done a great deal to give the wooden products made here an excellent reputation all over the world.
Olbernhau is considered the heart of this machine manufacturing area where toys and other wooden items are produced. WEMA GmbH is the most significant machine manufacturing company in the region and is market leader in woodworking technology. With the mission statement PROVIDING HIGH-TECH

WOODWORKING EQUIPMENT, WEMA GmbH follows old traditions and combines the knowledge and capabilities of its employees with the newest technological advancements.
The "MAXIMAT 50 plus" automatic woodworking lathe once again sets the bar for the highest level of
technology in this area. "WEMA – MAXIMAT 50 plus" is an automatic lathe with a modern NC controller. This controller allows freely programmable adjustment of the individual tool slide rests. Standard limit switches are not needed. Movements for the individual turning, drilling and milling procedures can be initiated in many different combinations using the control panel. This makes it

possible, for example, to complete a simple lathe part in a very short time with one production step. A deep profiled turned part can also be processed in several productions steps so that extremely high turned part quality can be achieved in a very short processing time.
Drilling can be turned on and off, and can be done before, after or between lathe procedures.
A further equipment option for the drilling unit with 3 tool positions on the front and a 2-axis NC controller
makes it possible to carry out multiple drilling procedures on a turned part. The middle tool position on the
drilling units can also be used for lathe processing. Here, universal turning tools are used instead of .
drilling tools. This allows freely designed contours to be created at the limits of the respective tool. Such contours can be entered directly using the control panel on the machine, or the CAD program available with the machine can be used to create the contours.

The universal construction of the "MAXIMAT 50 plus" also makes it possible to adjust the processing slide rests to meet the requirements of special turned parts. This allows cutting and milling slide rests to be used for example.
In addition, the NC controller allows the wood shavings to be separated from the finished wooden parts when they are ejected. Magazine loading on this automatic lathe handles prefabricated rods with diameters from 15 to 53 mm and lengths from 200 to 600 mm or - for special wooden parts - planed wooden blocks up to 35 x 35 mm in size. Tongs ensure that the rods and wooden blocks are securely placed in the lathe supports. The standard equipment for the automatic lathes includes two electromechanically driven lathe
supports with tool fittings, a drill support, two tool holders and one set of tongs. All other options can be adjusted to meet customers' wishes and turned part forms. Details are available in the price list. Individual consultation will surely allow users to understand the many possibilities provided by the "MAXIMAT 50 plus" automatic lathe.
