WEMA BETA 200/250 and GAMMA 250/300 Manuell lathes

The manual lathes from the WEMA BETA and GAMMA series are serious professional lathes with the hobbyist in mind. Designed with a very solid cast bed and sturdy sheet metal legs the motor is fixed to the cast bed on a rocker.

A five-stepped pulley is used with excellent v-belt to transmit the drive to the spindle. Also the entire head of the lathe can be rotated enabling large bowls to be turned as well with ease. Large bearings ensure superb drive and vibration free turning even when “fly turning”.

This range of our lathes are also able for the hand turner to use for continuous production and with the use of thrust bearings any severe work is easily able to be produced.

The BETA and GAMMA models vary in the size of the bed with the numbers 250 and 300 relating to the diameter of the work able to be turned. The BETA lathe has 875 mm between centres with the standard distance between centres on the GAMMA model at 1100 mm, but with the option of both 1350 mm and 2850 mm, and both 800 mm and 900 mm turning diameters are possible with an additional second bed.
